2010 WORKSHOP DETAILS

Design: Small, selective setting, consisting of 10 to 15 participants, each with 1 hour to present their work. The small setting facilitates feedback, interaction, and collaboration.

Date: May 20 and 21.

Program Chair: T. Scott Findley, Utah State University. Email: tscott.findley@usu.edu

Local Organizers: Frank N. Caliendo, T. Scott Findley, James Feigenbaum, and Shantanu Bagchi.

Keynote Speaker: Kartik Athreya, Senior Economist, Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond. Kartik's research interests are in macroeconomics and consumer finance, with an emphasis on the roles of asymmetric information for credit allocation over the life-cycle, student loan guarantees for inequality, and labor supply for household risk-management. This line of research appears in the Journal of Monetary Economics and the Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control.

Submission: Send papers electronically to the Program Chair (T. Scott Findley). Papers will be considered on an ongoing basis until the program is filled. Notification of decisions will be made by March 1 at the latest, and final program details will be available by March 31. Late submissions may be considered depending on space availability.

Location: Jon M. Huntsman School of Business, Utah State University, Logan, Utah. Visitors enjoy world-class scenery just minutes from campus. Easy access to hiking, biking, fishing, camping, boating, and other sight-seeing opportunities in the mountains. Logan is truly an outdoor paradise for those who are enthusiastic about the mountains, providing everything from gentle nature trails along rivers and lakes to extreme challenges on some of the steepest slopes in the Rockies.

Registration:  No registration fees are required.

Suggested Travel/Hotel Accommodations:  Fly into Salt Lake International Airport. To get from Salt Lake to Logan (approximately 80 miles), either rent a car or book a reservation in advance with the Cache Valley Limo Service (phone: 435-563-6400). While a number of hotels are available in Logan, the University Inn (

) provides the most convenient location for workshop participants. Participants are responsible for all reservations and expenses.
